The 30th Annual Christmas Party for underprivileged children will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2011.  It runs from 8:00am until 12 noon.  It is held at the Clay County Fairgrounds, 2497 State Road 16 West, Green Cove Springs, Florida 32043

The Christmas Party is open to any Clay County resident.  Children ages newborn thru fourteen years old receive a bag of new toys based on age and gender.  Children may then select one used toy and free clothing is available to the entire family.  Bicycles are given out randomly throughout the Party.  Hotdogs, cokes and popcorn are also given out.  Entertainers perform Christmas carols for the enjoyment of both the volunteers and the participants.  Although the line is usually quite long, the Party will not end until everyone in line receives gifts.  The outside gates will close promptly at 12 noon.

Children must be present to receive gifts.  Unfortunately, there are no exceptions to this rule.  It would be awful for a child who has waited in line for several hours not to receive gifts because a child who was not there received a bag instead. 

All children must be accompanied by an adult.  Proof of Clay County residency is required.

You must be at least 16 years of age to volunteer.  Volunteers are needed on Thursday and Friday prior to the event. Even if you are only available for a few hours, we can use your help.  We start on Friday at 9:30am and work until everything is complete.  Volunteers must help on Friday in order to help on Saturday.  On Saturday, volunteers should be there at 7:30am.  Volunteers should wear comfortable shoes because the floors are concrete.  We will be working inside the buildings and they are both heated and cooled.  Under no circumstances will volunteers be allowed to leave with toys that were donated for the event.  Bags of toys only leave with participants who are present at the Party and who wait in line to be served.
