Jimmy is 10 years old. Amanda is 6. Last year they began school with
paper towels stuffed in the toes of their shoes. Their ill-fitting,
faded clothing had tears and patches from years of use. They had no
notebooks, no new pencils, and no Winnie-The- Pooh backpacks. In fact,
they had nothing at all with which to start school.
Thanks to the generosity of people like you, this year Jimmy and Amanda,
and many more like them, have new socks, underwear, shoes, school
supplies, and backpacks and are looking forward to Christmas for the
first time they can remember.
Because of the continued generosity of a caring community, the children
of Clay County will have opportunities for education, support, and
joyful Christmas -- all of which no child should be left without.
You may never know their names, but they will carry thanks in their
hearts for your kindness for the rest of their lives.
He put a child in the middle of the room.
Then, cradling the little one in his arms, he said, "Whoever
embraces one of these children a I do,, embraces me and far more than
me -- God who sent me." Mark 9:36-57
