The John P. Hall, Sr. Children’s Charity Scholarship Program began in 1996 with the hope of fulfilling the dreams of Clay County high school seniors who would like to go to college but cannot afford it. To date, 195 Clay County graduating seniors have received more than $325,400.00 in scholarship funds. These needs based awards are awarded annually to Clay County public high school seniors. Scholarships are awarded to St. Johns River Community College and the University of North Florida. The award amounts are based on other assistance the students have received from other sources including Bright Futures. Students must submit an application and some applicants may be asked to interview with the Scholarship Selection Committee. Applicants are chosen to receive scholarships based on the following criteria: GPA, financial need, community service and recommendations. Applicants are notified in May of the decision of the Scholarship Selection Committee. All decisions of the Committee are final.
